FAQs
Everything you need to know before stepping into your sanctuary of healing at Deep Relief.
General Appointments & Etiquette
When should I arrive for my appointment?
1
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to decompress, enjoy a glass of water, and fill out any necessary intake forms so your session can start exactly on time.
What should I wear?
2
For most massages, you will undress to your level of comfort. Our therapists are experts in professional draping, ensuring that only the area being worked on is ever exposed.
For Reflexology: Wear loose pants that can be rolled up to the knee.
For Waxing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid irritation on the treated area afterward.
Treatment-Specific Questions
Does a Deep Tissue Massage have to hurt to work?
3
In short: No. While Deep Tissue involves firm pressure to reach sub-layers of muscle, it should be a "productive discomfort" rather than sharp pain. Always communicate with your therapist; if you can’t breathe through the pressure, it’s too much.
How long will the Cupping marks last?
4
The circular marks (petechiae) from Cupping Therapy typically fade within 3 to 7 days. They are not bruises, but rather a sign of increased blood flow and toxin release.
Yes, but we always recommend consulting with your primary physician first. Our therapists use specialized techniques and positioning to ensure maximum safety for both mom and baby at every stage of pregnancy.
Is Prenatal Massage safe during the first trimester?
5
What is the difference between Swedish and Deep Tissue?
6
Think of Swedish as a "nervous system reset" (flowing and relaxing) and Deep Tissue as a "structural reset" (targeted and intense).
Aftercare & Results
Why do I feel sore the day after a massage?
1
Especially after Deep Tissue or Sports Massage, your muscles may feel like they’ve had a workout. This is a normal inflammatory response as your body processes the work done. Drinking plenty of water and taking an Epsom salt bath will help.
How often should I come in?
2
For Chronic Pain: Every 1–2 weeks until the issue stabilizes.
For Maintenance/Stress: Once a month is the "sweet spot" for most clients to prevent tension from returning.
